About CovaSky

CovaSky finds trips most search engines miss.

Flight search engines answer one question: “what flies from A to B?” We answer a better one: “what is the smartest, cheapest, most interesting way to get from A to B?” Sometimes that's a direct flight. Usually it's something better — a nearby airport, a deliberate stopover, or a clever mix of plane and train.

Standard search — but smarter

Yes, we do ordinary flight search too. Enter an origin, destination, and date, and we compare across providers.

The difference is what we surface alongside the obvious results: nearby airports, connecting flights that come in cheaper than the direct one, and routes through budget hubs you'd never think to check.

📊 See example prices
Direct Skopje → Barcelona might be €180. But Skopje → Bergamo (Milan) plus Bergamo → Barcelona can be €65 total. Same trip. Different thinking.

⚠️ Example only — not real prices. Verify current prices on partner sites before making any travel decisions.

Stopovers — see a second city for almost nothing extra

A stopover is a deliberate pause of 20+ hours on the way to your destination. Instead of a layover you endure in an airport, it becomes a city you actually explore.

📊 See example prices
Flying Skopje → Lisbon? Stop in Rome for 3 days on the way. It often costs the same — or less — than flying direct.

⚠️ Example only — not real prices. Verify current prices on partner sites before making any travel decisions.

Some airlines run official stopover programs and reward you for pausing in their hub. Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Icelandair, and Singapore Airlines offer discounted or free stopover hotel nights for eligible tickets. We flag the opportunity; you confirm it.

Stopover perks are always subject to airline rules, ticket type, and routing. We show the possibility — verify eligibility directly with the airline before booking.

Mixed routes — fly to a nearby airport, finish by bus or train

Sometimes the cheapest way to reach a city is not to fly there directly. A nearby airport plus a short bus or train can beat the direct flight — often by a lot. We find these combinations automatically.

📊 See example prices

Skopje → Vienna

  • Direct flight: ~€183
  • Skopje → Bratislava (Wizz Air): ~€19
  • Bratislava → Vienna (FlixBus): ~€5–18
  • Total: ~€29 · same city, same day

⚠️ Example only — not real prices. Verify current prices on partner sites before making any travel decisions.

Ground legs link to FlixBus, RegioJet, ÖBB, and Omio depending on the corridor, so you can check schedules and book the bus or train.

Open jaw — fly into one city, out of another

You don't have to return from where you started. Fly Skopje → Rome, travel overland through Italy, and fly home from Milan.

Traditional search misses these because it assumes you come back from the same airport. We don't. Open-jaw trips are perfect for road trips, interrail combinations, or simply when you'd rather keep moving than backtrack.

Self-transfer — sometimes two cheap tickets beat one expensive one

Traditional search only shows tickets sold as a single itinerary. We also surface self-transfer options — two separate budget tickets that together cost less than one “official” connection.

Self-transfers are at your own risk. If you miss the connection, the second airline has no obligation to rebook you. Always allow generous connection time and read our disclaimer before booking.

Business class — sometimes closer than you think

We flag routes where business or premium economy is available, and where upgrade opportunities or error fares have historically shown up. It's not a guarantee — it's a nudge to look closer.

Some stopover programs also include complimentary lounge access or upgrade eligibility. We surface those where we know about them.

Upgrade availability and eligibility are always subject to airline terms. Verify directly with the carrier.

Group Travel — one search, multiple cities, one meetup

Planning a trip when everyone flies from a different city is a nightmare. Group Travel solves it. Add up to 10 travelers, each with their own origin, and choose how you want to meet:

  • Exact citythe one you all agree on
  • Best city in a countryor anywhere on a whole continent

  • Fairestnobody travels 12 hours while others do 2
  • Stopover Meetupmeet for a few days, then everyone continues onward

Travel inspired by what's happening

Sometimes the destination chooses you — a festival, a concert, a match, a cultural celebration. We surface route ideas connected to major events so you can plan around what matters to you, not just where flights happen to be cheap.

This connects with our sister platform Eventisimus for global festival discovery.

Official airline stopover programs

Several major airlines run official stopover programs — they want you to spend time in their hub city and sweeten it with perks. Programs we surface include:

  • Emirates — Dubai stopover packages
  • Turkish Airlines — Istanbul stopovers
  • Icelandair — free Iceland stopover
  • Singapore Airlines — Singapore stopover
  • Finnair — Helsinki stopover
  • Qatar Airways — Doha stopover

When your route passes through a hub with an active program, we flag it.

Eligibility and perks are always verified directly with the airline — we show the opportunity, they confirm the terms.

What we are — and what we aren't

We are a route-discovery and inspiration tool. We do not sell tickets, process payments, guarantee prices, or handle refunds. When you find a route you love, you book it on the partner's site under their terms.

All prices shown are estimates for illustration — real prices change constantly, so always verify before booking.

Some links are affiliate links, and we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence how routes are ranked. Ever.

Visa & entry requirements — always check

Routes passing through certain countries may require a visa — including for airport transit only. Requirements change without notice and vary by passport nationality.

CovaSky does not check, verify, or guarantee visa eligibility for any route, country, or airport transit. Always check official government sources and the airline before booking.

We flag stopover countries as a reminder to check — never as confirmation that entry is permitted.
